Scott Blumenthal

Scott L. Blumenthal, M.D., is a Spine Surgeon with the Texas Back Institute and is a Co-director of the Center for Disc Replacement. He also serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He was the first surgeon in the US to implant an artificial disc as part of an FDA trial in 2000. Since that time he has continued to be a leader in spinal arthroplasty working with a large number of discs currently on the market and in trials. He has published and lectured extensively on lumbar and cervical disc replacement.
