Muralidharn Venkatesan

Murali graduated from medical school in the southern part of India and after that, he came to the UK for surgical training. He completed trauma and orthopaedic surgery training in the East Midlands region and developed an interest in spinal surgery whilst working as a spinal trauma fellow with Mr. Sell based at the University Hospitals of Leicester.

He has published numerous papers and his spinal work include thoracolumbar trauma, odontoid peg fracture, atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation, Cauda equine syndrome and minimally invasive surgery.  He received Arthritis Research UK Young Investigator award in the British Orthopaedic Association congress in 2013.  He obtained MCh Orth degree with thesis on screening of thoracolumbar spine fracture in blunt trauma patients.

He is senior spinal fellow at Nottingham having exposure to a broad spectrum of spinal surgery. His main interests are deformity correction and minimally invasive surgery.
